Description
This course is a broad survey course covering the Federal regulation of most energy production in the U.S, except for nuclear energy -- electricity, gas, oil, coal, solar, wind, and hydropower. The course emphasizes the fundamental principles of public utility regulation that have formed the basis for regulation by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission and most of the state regulatory commissions around the U.S., using the seminal cases in public utility regulation. Principal areas of focus are on electricity, gas and oil.
