Description

An overview of environmental law with particular emphasis on the administrative law background; the National Environmental Policy Act of 1969, as amended; the governance of public lands; and air and water pollution control.

First Class Readings

The reading assignment for the first class is:

    (1) from the casebook, carefully read pages 397-403, 121, and 994-997;
    (2) also from the casebook, quickly read through pages 16-27; [spend 5 to 10 minutes on these pages, total]
    (3) from the photocopied materials, read quickly through the first five items [that is, all the materials through “Interfaith Environmentalism”] [spend 5 to 10 minutes on these pages, total];
    (4) from the photocopied materials, carefully read the summary of United States v. Mead.
