Description

A study of the structure, powers, and processes of administrative agencies that are the source of much of our nation's law. Topics include the delegation of power to agencies, the constitutional right to a hearing, agency procedures of adjudication and rule making, information law debates, judicial review of agencies, and administrative reform.

First Class Readings

For the first class, please read Chapter One of the casebook, pages 1-36. Additional assignments will follow shortly. Future assignments will concentrate on primary cases leaving optional much of the notes, comments, and note cases. The first chapter, however, is an overview of the field and includes two cases that provide a backdrop for rulemaking and adjudication, Londoner and Bi-Metallic.
