Statements employed by experts in developing testi-mony for trial, to the extent that such statements are (1) personally observed by the expert, or (2) if not personally observed by the expert, of the type reasonably relied upon by experts in the particular field in forming opinions or inferences upon the subject, and, in both instances, the expert has demonstrated to the presiding judge a basis for concluding that the particular statements possess substantial guarantees of trustworthiness.
