Communication No. 1706 (PARAGUAY)
Communication No. 1706, dated February 20, 1971, denouncing several acts in violation of fundamental human rights.
At its Twenty-fifth Session (March 1971), the Commission appointed as rapporteur of the case Mrs. Angela Acuna de Chacón, who presented a report recommending that the complaint be completed (Article 38 of the Regulations).
The Commission approved this recommendation, and pursuant to its decision, sent a communication to the complainants on April 2, 1971.
At the Twenty-sixth Session (October-November 1971), in view of the fact that the complainants had not completed their complaint, the Commission decided to file case No. 1706, without prejudice to reopening its study if the complainants supply the information requested within a reasonable period.
