Prof. Contreras Led Discussion at the National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences Policy Workshop
On December 11, Professor Jorge Contreras led a panel discussion relating to the impact of Intellectual Property Rights on translational medicine at the National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences ("NCATS") policy workshop.
The policy planning workshop explored ways NCATS can develop a proactive policy research and analysis agenda to inform translational research. The agenda of the workshop can be found here.
Prof. Contreras is the principle investigator studying the effect of scientific data release in genomics and other scientific disciplines. He is exploring the legal structures and intellectual property regimes best-suited to optimize the public use and dissemination of scientific data.
