AU Closes; PIJIP Briefing on Kirstaeng Postponed
The Supreme Court has vowed to fight on, undeterred by the storm and the shut down of the metro, federal government and all area schools, and will hold arguments today in the Kirstaeng case. American University -- perched atop the highest point in the city and the frequent subject of storm-caused power outages - will be taking the more conservative route and will not open today. Accordingly, PIJIP's planned briefing this afternoon on the Kirstaeng case with counsel from both sides has been postponed. We anticipate the Inaugural Peter Jaszi Lecture with Chris Sprigman on Thursday November 1 will go forward as planned.
