The Christian Legal Society (CLS) is a student chapter of a national non-denominational membership organization of attorneys, judges, law professors, and law students, working in association with others, to follow Jesus' command "to do justice with the love of God." (Luke 11:42; Matthew 23:23).
Founded in the Chicago area in 1961 by four lawyers who met to pray together at an American Bar Association Convention in 1959, CLS is today a wholly religious not-for-profit 501(c)(3) Illinois corporation with its principal place of business now in Annandale, Virginia (a suburb of Washington, D.C.).
Acting through its national staff and its attorney and law student chapters, the Society's mission is to identify, equip and mobilize "a national grassroots network of lawyers and law students committed to proclaiming, loving and serving Jesus Christ, through all we do in the practice of law, and by advocating biblical conflict reconciliation, public justice, religious freedom and the sanctity of human life."

How Can I become involved in the Christian Legal Society at AU?
Everyone at WCL is invited to join CLS for our weekly meetings and events. The 2006-07 program includes a biblical analysis and discussion of God’s View of Justice. CLS meets each Tuesday in room 627 at 12:00 p.m. to study the Bible, pray together and encourage one another through fellowship. On Thursdays at 12:30, CLS gathers in one of the SBA Conference room to intercede for each other, the WCL community, the city, the nation, and the world. Alternate room assignments, events, and guest speakers are announced throughout the year in The Docket, or through our listserv. Please e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org to be added to our listserv. Each year we have several lunch events with outside speakers regarding their experience as lawyers and active Christians as well as one joint event with other organizations at the WCL campus addressing religious issues and the law.
