Dean Claudio Grossman Named President of the Inter-American Institute of Human Rights

Claudio Grossman, dean of American University Washington College of Law, has been selected as president of the Inter-American Institute of Human Rights.

This is the second time that a dean of AUWCL has been named president of the Institute, the first was Dean Thomas Buergenthal from 1980-1990.

Established through an agreement signed between the Inter-American Court of Human Rights and the Republic of Costa Rica, the Institute has become one of the world's leading centers for teaching and academic research on human rights, applying a multidisciplinary approach with an emphasis on the problems of the Americas.
