American University Washington College of Law Mourns the Loss of Former Dean Fred Anderson
July 17, 2014 - American University Washington College of Law today remembers former dean Fred Anderson, who passed away Monday morning, July 14. Fred was dean of Washington College of Law from 1985-88. He was a renowned environmental law professor who made significant contributions to both academia and law practice. He was the first president of the Environmental Law Institute, and served as founding chair of both the Center for International Environmental Law (CIEL) and the Institute for Governance and Sustainable Development (IGSD). Fred passed away peacefully with his wife Barbara and daughter Molly at his side. American University Washington College of Law has extended our sincere condolences to his family on behalf of our community.
