Program on Law and Government Hosts Panel on Careers in Government Contracts

On Thursday, Feb. 8, the Program on Law and Government hosted a panel on Careers in Government Contracts. The speakers, Kathleen A. Murphy, Jim Weiner ’86, and Dana-Marie Akpan explained the career options in government contracts and the different career paths available. The panel also addressed opportunities in the federal government for those interested in procurement and litigation.
In addition to speaking about experiences with the federal government, they also provided practical advice on how to find a job in the private sector and Big Law, the best way to submit applications, the importance of knowing where you want to apply, and how to best prepare for the interview process. Steven Shapiro, Director of the Hospitality and Tourism Program, moderated the event.
