Professor Elliott Milstein Honored with Prestigious CLEA Award
Professor Elliott Milstein, co-director of the AUWCL Civil Advocacy Clinic, received the 2017 Clinical Legal Education Association (CLEA) Award for Outstanding Advocate for Clinical Teachers at the AALS Conference on Clinical Legal Education in May.
The award recognizes an individual who has served as a voice for clinical teachers and contributed to the advancement of clinical legal education. As one of the founders of modern clinical legal education, Milstein advocated nationally for the development of live-client, in-house clinical education. At the same time, he built the Clinical Program here at AUWCL, demonstrating to legal academia that clinical teaching is essential to a basic legal education.
