Marshall-Brennan Constitutional Literacy Project Celebrates A Successful Year

Earlier this month, some talented teenagers gathered at Busboys and Poets on 14th Street for the Marshall-Brennan Constitutional Literacy Project’s end-of-year celebration. The event celebrated the D.C. high school students who participated in the Marshall-Brennan program, their AUWCL law student teachers, and all other D.C. partners who made the year a success.

The afternoon included the presentation of the Community Contribution Awards and remarks by Professor Jamie Raskin, who launched the Marshall-Brennan Constitutional Literacy Project in 1999.

For this year’s celebration, the Project partnered with La-Ti-Do, a local spoken word and musical theatre cabaret, to showcase performances by members of the cabaret, the Marshall-Brennan community, and the DC Youth Poetry Slam Team.
