Dean Grossman to Receive Honorary Degree from Fairleigh Dickinson University

Monday, May 18, 2015 – On Tuesday, May 19, American University Washington College of Law Dean Claudio Grossman will be conferred an honorary Doctor of Laws degree from Fairleigh Dickinson University at their spring commencement ceremony taking place at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

University President Sheldon Drucker said in the letter inviting Dean Grossman to receive this honor that their university community, which has a mission to prepare world citizens through global education,  has “admired [Dean Grossman’s] commitment to international law and human rights and we are excited for the opportunity to honor [his] dedication to these incredibly important causes. We further are excited to pay tribute to a man devoted to education and to inspiring the next generation to better understand and with hope improve our world.” They also wish to honor Dean Grossman’s passion for international issues and work with international organizations, including the UN.

At the commencement, Dean Grossman will be presented with a formal citation and diploma and will then be asked to give remarks to the anticipated audience of more than 11,000 graduates of the university, family, and friends.
