Dean Grossman and Professor Mendez Address UN General Assembly

Dean Grossman and Professor MendezDean Claudio Grossman, in his role as chair of the United Nations Committee against Torture (UN CAT), presented the Committee's annual address to the UN General Assembly in New York on Oct. 21.

Dean Grossman and Juan Mendez, UN Special Rapporteur on Torture and professor in human rights law in residence at AUWCL, also participated in a panel on "Identifying and Overcoming Challenges to Ratification and Implementation of the UN Convention against Torture" presented by the Convention against Torture Initiative (CTI) and the government of Denmark.

Addressing the United NationsAs part of this trip, Dean Grossman organized a dinner with select AUWCL alumni Oct. 20 to discuss new initiatives taking place at the law school, including the latest news about the Tenley Campus.
