Associate Dean Jaffe and Professor Wermiel Meet with AUWCL Graduates Teaching in Turkey
Associate Dean of Students David Jaffe and Professor Stephen Wermiel met with AUWCL alumni who are currenlty teaching law at Yeditepe University Law School in Istanbul, Turkey. Through an initiative developed by Jaffe in 2013, 10 recent graduates have been placed at Yeditepe for one-to-two year full-time teaching positions. Graduates pictured at right (Elif Cila, Sarah Lobe, Melodie Arian, Thomas Richard, and Colten Hall) have taught Legal Terminology, Legal Drafting, International Business Transactions, and Torts. Additionally, the graduates have shared teaching duties for a U.S. Contracts Master's level course.
This initiative follows an exchange now in its 11th year during which AUWCL students spend a May-June summer session at Yeditepe, followed by a group of Yeditepe students studying at AUWCL in July.
