American University Washington College of Law is pleased to have five specialty programs recognized by our peer institutions – through voting in the annual U.S. News and World Report rankings – as some of the top in the nation.

Negeen Sadeghi-Movahed, a 2L Iranian-American student at American University Washington College of Law (AUWCL), will be the next chair of the Law Student Division of American Bar Association (ABA).

Going to law school in Washington, D.C., has many advantages – access to branches of government, hundreds of interesting externship opportunities, and being at a campus location that exposes you to top attorneys from D.C., regional, and international law firms and organizations. That exposure continues inside the classroom as students learn from our extended network of adjunct faculty who bring their day-to-day experience and drive, and share stories of current cases, law firm dynamics, and practicing internationally. 

American University Washington College of Law (AUWCL) alumna Alejandra Aramayo ’16 has been named to the 2018 class of Immigrant Justice Corps (IJC) Fellows. The program is the country’s first fellowship dedicated to meeting the need for high quality legal assistance for immigrants seeking citizenship and fighting deportation.

On Tuesday, March 6, 2018, more than 80 students were honored with scholarships as part of the 2018 Scholarships and Awards Program.
