The American University Washington College of Law was pleased to welcome Hague Academy of International Law Secretary-General Jean-Marc Thouvenin April 5 for a discussion of the Academy, and its role in the future of international law.

On Tuesday, April 3, American University Washington College of Law hosted a conference on Empowering Citizenship in our Shared Digital Future that was presented by the Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowship Program.

Fifty years ago today, the world lost one of our greatest leaders. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was a hero, yet he was one of us. One may ask, what was it that made him have such a profound impact in such a short amount of time? From his call for civil discourse and an unwavering commitment to the dire struggles of those facing injustice to his refusal to back down from those perpetuating the degradation of civil rights, Dr. King led a life of sounding the alarm in the face of inequality.

The Equal Justice Foundation’s (EJF) 25th Annual Public Interest Auction took place on Thursday, March 29. Faculty, students, alumni, staff, friends, family, and other members of the American University Washington College of Law community convened in Claudio Grossman Hall for a night of bidding and fun, all for an excellent cause.

AUWCL Professor Susan Franck, chair of the Institute for Transnational Arbitration (ITA) Academic Council, helped create and will be the final speaker at the ITA’s  conference on “Diversity and Inclusion in International Arbitration" Wednesday, April 4.
