Lisa Rickard ’82, president of the U.S. Chamber Institute for Legal Reform (ILR), was honored Tuesday with American University Washington College of Law’s Women and the Law Leadership Award.

For the last 25 years, American University Washington College of Law’s Program on Law and Government has united law students with the nation’s capital and provided them a firm foundation for a successful career in governmental service.

Students, faculty, and distinguished guest speakers from the Latinx community came together Thursday, April 19 at American University Washington College of Law for the 21st Annual Hispanic Law Conference.

2L Christina Canalizo and 1L Ericka Cruz, two students at American University Washington College Law, have been awarded the national Peggy Browning Fellowship. The fellowship provides law students with unique, diverse and challenging opportunities to fight for social and economic justice, with the hope the experiences will inspire students to enter careers in public interest labor law.

On Wednesday, April 18, 2018, the Asian Pacific American Law Student Association (APALSA) hosted its Eleventh Annual Asian Pacific Americans and the Law Dinner to highlight the continuing need to empower and encourage the participation of the Asian Pacific American (APA) community in the legal profession.
