On Thursday, Nov. 29, Sen. Elizabeth Warren visited American University Washington College of Law for an address on foreign policy, outlining her ideas on strengthening democracy within the U.S. and abroad.

On Nov. 16, 2018, the American University Law Review was honored to host its annual Federal Circuit Symposium. The Federal Circuit symposium is the nation’s first and only academic symposium that is dedicated exclusively to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.

On November 5, the American University Washington College of Law’s (AUWCL) International Law Student Association, along with Dean Emeritus Claudio Grossman, member of the International Law Commission (ILC), hosted distinguished guests from around the world to exchange ideas on the topic of “Reparation to Individuals for Violations of International Human Rights Law and International Humanitarian Law.”  

On Thursday, Nov. 15 American University Washington College of Law Professor Jennifer Daskal participated in a Headliners Newsmaker panel discussion at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C., entitled “Presidential Jeopardy: Impeachment, Indictment and the 25th Amendment.”

American University Washington College of Law student Michael McLaughlin received the Corporate IP Strategy Conference 2018 Legal Writing Competition for an article he wrote regarding patent protection as it relates to computer-assisted and computer-generated inventions.
