American University Washington College of Law has received an A+ for Human Rights Law, an A grade for Family Law, and an A- for Health Law in rankings recently released in PreLaw Magazine’s Back to School 2019 edition.

Professor David H. Spratt was elected to a three-year term on the Board of Governors for the Virginia State Bar Section on Education of Lawyers. This section, the first of its kind in the country, brings together law deans and professors, members of the judiciary, and practicing lawyers in a collaborative effort to improve every phase of legal education.

American University Washington College of Law Dean Emeritus and Professor of Law Claudio Grossman was elected associate member of the Institut de Droit International on Monday, August 26, 2019. This honor is a further tribute to Grossman’s impact on international legal scholarship in the Americas and around the world.
