American University Provost Dan Myers announced today that he has appointed Professor Robert Dinerstein to serve as Acting Dean of American University Washington College of Law (AUWCL) beginning August 1, 2020. Dinerstein will take over for Dean Camille Nelson, whose last day as dean will be July 31, 2020.

From May 18-22, American University Washington College of Law’s Academy on Human Rights and Humanitarian Law is hosting a virtual version of the 25th Anniversary of the Inter-American Human Rights Moot Court Competition.

American University Washington College of Law is launching a new faculty webinar series – “WCL Faculty Speaks” – to address key legal and policy issues impacted by the COVID-19 crisis. The series of live webinars will address the state of international human rights, health law and policy, constitutional rights, national security, and more during the pandemic.

Each summer, AUWCL’s renowned intellectual property program offers a broad selection of evening, weekend, and short courses. Participants gain insight into the ever-changing field of intellectual property law, including patent litigation, copyright, licensing, design law, video game, multilateral law-making and much more.

On May 5, American University Washington College of Law’s Academy on Human Rights and Humanitarian Law hosted a virtual event, “Pandemia y Derechos Humanos: Situaciones de Emergencia y la Supervisión Internacional” (The Pandemic and Human Rights: Emergency Situations and International Supervision).
