Six American University Washington College of Law students spent a week in Window Rock, Arizona, the capital of the Navajo Nation, on an Alternative Spring Break trip organized by the law school's student organization Action for Human Rights. The students completed weeklong internships at government and non-government organizations, giving them the opportunity to learn about the legal issues facing the Navajo population and research Navajo jurisprudence and legislation.

Moot court teams from across North and South America traveled to American University Washington College of Law March 22 to compete in the All-American Regional Round of the 16th edition of the European Law Students’ Association (ELSA) Moot Court Competition on World Trade Organization law.

In February, the American University Washington College of Law Women and the Law Program brought together a group of women lawyers to discuss concrete steps for change at “#MeToo: Preventing Sexual Harassment in the Legal Workplace.” The evening event included a conversation about preventing sexual harassment in the workplace, and how practitioners could lead the way in demanding workplaces free from sex-based harassment, abuse, and discrimination for all women.

Negeen Sadeghi-Movahed, a 2L Iranian-American student at American University Washington College of Law (AUWCL), will be the next chair of the Law Student Division of American Bar Association (ABA).
