11th Annual Jurist-in-Residence

Judge Higginson has served on the Fifth Circuit in New Orleans since November, 2011, after being nominated by President Obama.He was a federal prosecutor for 22 years, serving in U.S. attorney’s offices first in Massachusetts and then in Louisiana. After graduating from Yale Law School, he was a law clerk to Judge Patricia Wald on the D.C. Circuit and to Justice Byron white on the U.S. Supreme Court

The Jurist-in-Residence visit is a unique and important opportunity for students to talk to a sitting federal judge about the role of the federal appeals courts, the process of judging, the reasoning of court opinions,  judicial clerkships, the confirmation process, and more.

5-6pm Reception outside Grossman Hall
