Appointed to the Federal Circuit in 2000, Judge Dyk was a widely respected litigator and appellate advocate in Washington before going on the bench. A former law clerk to Chief Justice Earl Warren and former Justice Department lawyer, Judge Dyk was in private practice for 36 years.
