Professor Stef Woods (WCL '99) examines the impact of OITNB as a cultural phenomenon, and analyzes how the show intersects with in-the-news topics such as the growing visibility of people who identify as transgender and the Black Lives Matter movement, as well as the privatized prison system in the United States.
