Law Student Training: The Washington Lawyers' Committee, Workers' Rights Clinic

The Washington Lawyers’ Committee holds a regular Workers’ Rights Clinic where low-income workers with employment law problems can have a one-on-one consultation. Under supervision, law student intake volunteers interview workers about their workplace issues and work with experienced employment attorneys to relay advice to workers. Please join us for a virtual training and information session and learn how to get involved!

Civil-Military Society General Body Meeting

 The Civil-Military Society has the following mission:  The military is an organization structured and defined within civil society with core values of honor, integrity, and loyalty to U.S. laws and constitution.  CMS mission is to support WCL members who are or have been in military or civil service, military adjacent persons such as spouses, children, friends, contractors, scholars, and civilians to foster a successful relationship between civil society and the military.       

Purpose:  The purpose of this CMS meeting is for the CMS Executive Board to provide information to the CMS members and provide a forum for members to raise issues to be addressed by the organization.

OAE 1L Lab: Metacognition: Know That You Know That You Know That You Know

Please join the Office of Academic Excellence for our second 1L lab on Metacognition.  

Metacognition is the awareness of your own learning and thought-process.   This is truly a key to academic success in law school. 

During this lab, you will come away with a better understanding of your learning style, how to integrate your style in your law school classes and study time, and strategies for understanding what you know, and what you don't know to better prepare for final exam success.

Communications and Media Law Society General Body Meeting/How to Make Your Application Stand Out

Come join CMLS for its Fall General Body Meeting, featuring Professor Phillips. Professor Phillips will give a short workshop on application materials, including: writing samples, tailoring your resume, and what to put in your cover letter. We'll also be sharing ways to secure internships/jobs in the communications and media law fields. Food will be provided.
