William H. Karchmer Regional Competition

 The Marshall-Brennan Constitutional Literacy Project at American University Washington College of Law will host local high school competitors on Saturday,  November 13, 2021, for the annual William H. Karchmer Regional Moot Court Competition. The moot court competition teaches high school students, scholars the skill of weaving together arguments about legal principles and the facts of a hypothetical case. Garden Workday

Starting October 9th until the reading period begins, the WCL Community Garden will host bi-weekly workdays in the garden. These workdays are open to ALL WCL community members.

PEEL's Annual Fall Hike

11:00AM Washington College of Law

 Join the Program on Environmental & Energy Law for their annual Fall hike in Rock Creek Park. The hike will take place on Sunday, November 14th at 11am, starting at Rock Creek Park's Horse Center parking lot. From the Horse Center, we will be entering the 2.0 mile Rapid Bridge trailhead. For those who need a ride, there will be a carpool meeting at 10:45am at WCL's Yuma entrance. Those who have a car and are willing to meet at WCL and drive others the 7 minutes to the Horse Center will be greatly appreciated! Otherwise, please meet at the Horse Center parking lot at 11am.

2021 Annual International Commercial Arbitration Lecture: Arbitrator Impartiality and Independence vs. Inter-Dependence: Myth vs. Reality and its Impact

The 16th Annual Lecture, Arbitrator Impartiality and Independence vs. Inter-Dependence: Myth vs. Reality and its Impact, will be delivered by Carolyn Lamm,   Partner at White & Case LLP. 

The Arbitration Annual Lecture seeks to contribute to the development of scholarship and honor individuals who have distinguished themselves in the field. The event is sponsored by Arnold & Porter. The media partner is TDM.

The event is free and open to the public. However, registration is required. 
Carolyn Lamm, Partner at White & Case regularly serves as lead counsel in high-stakes, cutting-edge cases, successfully resolving significant international arbitrations involving international corporations and sovereign clients. She also serves as lead counsel in arbitration-related litigation. 
She is the Distinguished Faculty Chair at the University of Miami School of Law in the White & Case LLM program in International Arbitration, where she teaches International Investment Arbitration. Carolyn is also a fellow at the American College of Trial Lawyers, the preeminent organization of trial lawyers in North America dedicated to the highest standards of trial advocacy, professionalism, and the administration of justice.
Carolyn is a past President of the District of Columbia Bar and the American Bar Association and until recently, was the ABA's representative to the International Bar Association
