ADA30: Looking Back, Moving Forward

02:00PM - 04:00PM Online via Zoom

This year marks the 30th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), landmark legislation mandating baseline levels of access for the millions of Americans living with disabilities. Its passage was the culmination of decades of passionate disability rights advocacy and it continues to inspire emerging leaders today. The ADA achieved much, but it could not and did not realize total inclusion. Thirty years of technological progress coincided with an expanding litany of cultural, legal, and technical challenges to access for all.

Please join the Program on Law and Government at American University Washington College of Law and event sponsor Verizon for a discussion looking back on what the ADA and its champions achieved, and forward to the challenges ahead.
