Gender and Law Lunch and Learn, Sterilization for Freedom: Coerced Contraception for Reduced Sentences

12:00PM - 01:00PM N104

It seems unfathomable that a judge’s sentence determination would be based, in part, on an individual’s acquiescence to contraceptive measures, however, this was in fact the recent practice of a Tennessee judge.  Join us for “Sterilization for Freedom: Coerced Contraception for Reduced Sentences” and explore and discuss current proposed measures to put an end to this practice on September 19th from 12:00 to 1:00pm in N104. RSVP by emailing womenlaw@wcl.american.edu!
