What's Working in the 116th Congress
The American University Legislation & Policy Brief is hosting a symposium on April 12, highlighting recent bipartisan legislative victories to show that, despite the popular narrative, Congress is still working. The Brief feels strongly about counterbalancing conversations on Congressional polarization with evidence of real, substantive areas of bipartisan victories. They keynote address will be delivered by Ruth Marcus, columnist for the Washington Post and Sine Institute Fellow. The first panel will discuss the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act and extenders, and the second panel will discuss the politics of congressional oversight and investigations.

2019 ELSA Moot Court Competition
American University Washington College of Law will host both the North American and the Latin American Regional Rounds of the 2019 ELSA WTO Moot Court Competition. This is a simulated hearing of the World Trade Organization (WTO) dispute settlement system and is organized annually by ELSA (The European Law Students Association) with the cooperation of the WTO. The competition is open to teams from around the globe.
