Nancy H. Segal is a professional resume writer and federal human resources training and job search expert. Following her own 30-year federal HR career (much of it at the senior level), she founded Solutions for the Workplace LLC in 2005 to provide an HR management perspective to both federal managers and astute applicants to U.S. government positions.

International Suite Talk Series: ““From International Arbitration to Startup Law” with Lupe Lopez (JD’10, LLM’11)

Lupe Lopez has over nine years of combined law firm and in-house tech experience. She is currently Chief Legal and Chief Operating Officer of VeMiDoc, a healthcare tech startup where she advises on corporate, commercial, and regulatory matters, while providing strategic guidance on operations.


Before joining VeMiDoc, Lupe was a Senior Associate at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer in New York for over seven years. She represented multinational corporations and sovereign states in international arbitration proceedings and corporate investigations arising in Latin America, Europe, and the Middle East, helping secure over $1.6 billion worth of arbitral awards on behalf of clients. She was an active member of the firm’s diversity and pro bono teams during her time at Freshfields.


Lupe holds a JD and LLM degree from American University Washington College of Law, as well as a BA from the University of Texas at El Paso. She is admitted to the New York State Bar. Her interests include technology & social inclusion, travel and running (proudly completed the NYC Marathon).

The Future of Student Speech: Mahanoy v. B.L. with Mary Beth Tinker

Join us for a discussion with nationally-acclaimed free speech advocate Mary Beth Tinker for a discussion on Mahanoy Area School District v. B.L. in which the U.S. Supreme Court will decide whether a public school district can suspend a student over comments she made on social media. Ms. Tinker was the plaintiff in the landmark 1969 case Tinker v. Des Moines, in which the Supreme Court upheld her right to wear a black armband to school in protest of the Vietnam War.
