LELS Resume & Cover Letter Workshop

 The Labor & Employment Law Society is hosting a virtual Resume & Cover Letter Workshop. On Monday, January 17th, starting at 12am and ending at 11:59pm, please email your resume and/or cover letter to lels@wcl.american.edu for review. We will return it to you with both technical and substantive feedback within 48 hours. Please send your documents in Word so that we can use track changes. If you are sending a cover letter for a specific position, please provide a link to the position or something about the job description.

 

This is open to all years – 1Ls, 2Ls, and 3Ls.

Akin Gump 1L Pro Bono Scholars Program Session

Join us on January 20 at Noon ET to learn about the Akin Gump Pro Bono Scholars Program from Scott Daniel Johnson (’10), Senior Counsel at Akin Gump. The program is a two-summer program for students who show a strong interest in making pro bono an integral part of their Akin Gump careers. Scholars are rising second-year law students who work both at the firm and at a public interest organization during the summer. The next summer, Scholars are members of the firm’s regular summer associate program. Register in CareerLink.

Spring Externship Fair

The Externship Fair allows students to meet with many different attoneys in a variety of practice areas. We expect 130 employers to attend.  The Fair provides studetnts with an opportunity to:

*Informally apply for internships and externship for summer, fall and spring;

*Learn about different types of legal practice and legal organzations;

*Meet with WCL alumni who have an interest in helping WCL studetns.

The Fair will be held virtually.
