Justice in Cyberspace: A Symposium seeks to examine the current challenges to preventing, investigating, and prosecuting cyber and cyber-enabled crimes. The panels will explore the influence of Big Data and the Internet of Things (IoT) on law enforcement investigations, the balance between security and privacy, the impact of region-specific privacy regulations on borderless evidence, and the value of collaboration and transparency with regards to data sharing. Today’s symposium brings together experts from law enforcement, industry, the cybersecurity community, advocacy groups, and other branches of government.

Wojciech Sadurski’s new book Poland's Constitutional Breakdown is the first book-length case study on the Polish situation and critique on illiberal democracy. The book provides a lens to view the global shift away from liberal democracy and towards populism and anti-constitutional actions.

This event is the first workshop of CLIW that is the Comparative Law Initiative in Washington D.C. hosted by AU WCL, GW and George Mason Law Schools, with sponsorship by the Global Forum on Law Justice and Development.

Sustainable Development Law and Policy Brief: Air Quality and Environmental Justice Symposium

The Sustainable Development Law and Policy Brief is hosting a Symposium entitled "Air Quality and Environmental Justice” on Friday, February 07, 2020 at American University Washington College of Law in Washington, D.C.  The Symposium will focus on the key air quality issues affecting frontline communities and developing innovative policy solutions that address regulatory gaps and deficiencies. Specifically, the panelists will discuss hazardous air pollution, promoting clean energy generation, carbon pricing programs, and environmental justice. Panelists will include activists who have worked directly with impacted communities; experts from nonprofit, government, and international organizations; and attorneys who specialize in Clean Air Act enforcement litigation.
