Human Rights Reading Group

12:00PM - 01:15PM Washington College of Law NT02

Join the Center for Human Rights & Humanitarian Law for the Human Rights Reading Group!  Throughout the year, students participating in the Reading Group will confront the dilemmas and issues that arise in connection with human rights, focusing in particular on how acknowledgement of such critiques can help human rights advocates better navigate the field with creativity and critical reflection.  Participants will learn how to assess the philosophical and practical underpinnings of human rights and how to ethically, pragmatically, and responsibly choose to critique and defend policies.  This year-long series is open to the entire WCL community and will meet three times per semester in AY 2017-2018.

To register, please email humlaw@wcl.american.edu with "Reading Group" in the subject by Monday, Feb. 5.
