WCL Moot Court Team Wins International Criminal Court Moot Competition
The WCL Team of Trevor Maxwell (2L), Chris Keeler (2L), and Asma Kadri (2L) won the International Criminal Court (ICC) Moot Competition, hosted by Pace Law School on March 21st. The WCL team was one of 15 teams who participated in the competition, defeating a number of very competitive teams, including from Columbia, NYU, Case Western, Tulane and Brooklyn law schools and John Hopkins' SAIS. In addition to the amazing team performance, Chris Keeler placed in several categories, taking home first place for best oralist in the final round, third place for best oralist overall, and second place for best prosecution brief!
The team will now go on to compete in the international phase of the ICC Moot Court Competition, which will be held in The Hague this May. WCRO’s Chante Lasco, Katherine Cleary and I had the pleasure of coaching this team as well, who benefited from the time and guidance of several others, including Robert Goldman and Robert Carter Parét (3L who participated - and himself won the 3rd Best Oralist award - in the 2014 International Criminal Court Moot Court Competition).
