XIII Symposium on International Trade
The XIII Annual Symposium on International Trade will address current issues in a series of panels: What is happening around the globe following the new mindset in Washington, including China, South American, and the EU; the US is avoiding multilateral trade agreements, renegotiating NAFTA and engaging in one-to-one talks with specific trade partners, leveraging its own priorities: is the focus on bilateral agreements the answer? Could renegotiations of trade agreements make them better for everybody? Should WTO rules be put aside? : the "new old" US trade barriers - are they reflecting that the WTO rules, remedies and dispute settlement system are not effective? Are there effective alternative positive approaches for solving trade issues? Digital trade and services: challenges and opportunities are increasingly important - regulatory and policy measures, international trade and investment flows, intellectual property and the WTO and multilateral agreements.
