Laila Abdelaziz

Research Assistant and TLS Student Fellow

Laila Abdelaziz is a member of the American University Washington College of Law ("WCL") Class of 2022. Laila also serves on the American University Business Law Review as Business & Marketing Editor for the Volume 11 Executive Board and on the WCL Tech, Law & Security ("TLS") Student Society as Outreach & Marketing Director.

As a TLS Research Assistant, Laila works with Professor Alex Joel to research legal and national security issues concerning US-E.U. data transfers following the Schrems II decision. Prior to law school, Laila worked with various public interest groups to advance civil rights policy, including open internet access and consumer data privacy laws. Laila is a member of the International Association of Privacy Professionals and hopes to pursue a career in law with a focus on technology, security, and privacy issues. She holds a degree in International Studies from the University of South Florida."
