Kady Hammer is a third-year evening law student interested in cybersecurity, data privacy, national security and emerging technologies. She is an ICANN@NextGen72 member with her research focusing on securing border gateway protocols (BGP). Kady has written papers focusing on the efficacy of DOJ indictments in hacking cases and assessing the effectiveness of PIAs and DPIAs in protecting personal data in the UK and US. She is currently a Research Assistant for the Tech, Law, and Security Program and works full time at a law firm in DC as a Business Development Specialist. In her spare time, Kady is a member of the Student Bar Association and is the President of ADVANCE, a student run organization focusing on providing mentorship for first generation lawyers. She holds a M.A. from Johns Hopkins University in International Economics and Law, and a B.A. from California State University, Chico in International Relations, Political Science and Public Administration.
