Karl Hopkins was previously a partner and Dentons' Global Chief Security Officer. Mr. Hopkins counseled the Firm on international strategy, business and political intelligence, and security and threat analysis. In addition, he provided strategic advice to the Firm's clients regarding their global operations, including the performance of due diligence and compliance investigations, physical and cyber security assessments, country and political risk assessments, and threat analyses. This included providing enterprise risk management and organizational resiliency advice. 

Mr. Hopkins also provided clients with strategic and legal advice regarding crisis and incident response. He has managed various types of crises, including physical security breaches and cyber incidents, insider threats and reputational impacts. He also assisted clients with the formulation and implementation of communication and crisis management policies and protocols.

In addition to providing strategic counsel to minimize risks, Mr. Hopkins has represented clients before various arbitration tribunals, including the American Arbitration Association (AAA), the International Centre for Dispute Resolution (ICDR), the London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA), the International Court of Arbitration of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) and the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL). Mr. Hopkins also has represented a number of multinational clients in global asset identification and recovery matters, and has extensive experience advising clients, including a number of oil & gas producers and oilfield service and supply companies around the globe in connection with energy infrastructure projects.

Mr. Hopkins serves as General Counsel and on the Executive Committee for the Atlantic Council, on the Board of Governors for the Middle East Institute, and has been recognized by Chambers Global and Chambers USA.
