Vice President and General Counsel Raytheon Intelligence & Space
John Martinez is Vice President and General Counsel for Raytheon Intelligence & Space, a business of Raytheon Technologies. He manages a team of lawyers, ethics professionals and global trade licensing, operations and compliance specialists handling an array of legal, ethics and export/import issues relating to government and commercial contracts. In addition, Martinez is responsible for matters relating to corporate governance, litigation, labor and employment, intellectual property and international business compliance, including relating to the ITAR and EAR.
Most recently, Martinez served as Vice President and General Counsel of Raytheon Company’s Intelligence, Information and Services business prior to Raytheon Company’s merger with United Technologies Corporation in 2020.
He has served in a number of other senior management roles at Raytheon Company, including Chief Cybersecurity and Privacy Counsel and Senior Counsel for Intelligence, Information and Services’ Cybersecurity and Special Missions business. He also served as Senior Counsel to a variety of Intelligence, Information and Services mission areas.
Before joining Raytheon in 2011, Martinez was the Deputy General Counsel for Intelligence at the Office of the Director of National Intelligence. In that role, he supported the Director of National Intelligence in fulfilling the statutory responsibility to ensure intelligence community compliance with U.S. law and regulations. He has also served at the CIA, the law firm of Greenberg Traurig, LLP, in New York City and the New York County (Manhattan) District Attorney’s office.
Martinez earned a Juris Doctor from St. John’s University School of Law and a bachelor’s degree in political science at Pennsylvania State University.
