Please join us for an in-depth conversation featuring former Inspector General of the Intelligence Community, Michael Atkinson, and TLS Scholar-in-Residence, Alex Joel.
Mr. Atkinson will reflect on his career in the Department of Justice and as the Inspector General of the IC. We will examine the vital role inspectors general play in national security, and in particular, the need for IG independence in supporting IC professionals who raise concerns through authorized channels. We will discuss Mr. Atkinson’s experience in handling the whistleblower complaint regarding Ukraine, and reflect on lessons learned regarding the importance of speaking truth to power.
