Welcome Professor Sylvia Lu
We’re thrilled to welcome Professor Sylvia Lu as an Assistant Professor of Law at American University Washington College of Law and the newest member of the Program on Information Justice and Intellectual Property.
Professor Lu brings expertise in AI regulation, and data governance. She joins us from the University of Michigan Law School, where she taught a seminar on Artificial Intelligence Regulations. She earned her J.S.D and LL.M from UC Berkeley, with honors including the Lloyd M. Robbins Fellowship and a Merit Scholarship.
She is a Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/US, CIPP/E), and her recent research tackles the pressing challenges of AI-driven harms to civil rights, with a focus on regulatory frameworks across the U.S., EU, and Asia.
We’re excited to have Professor Lu join our community! Her expertise and contributions will be a valuable addition to our work at PIJIP and AUWCL!
