WCL student Lauren Ingram Has Been Awarded the 2021 Ladas Memorial Award.

American University Washington College of Law student Lauren Ingram has been awarded the 2021 Ladas Memorial Award.

Ingram’s article Cultural Misappropriation: What should the United States Do?, was selected by a panel of judges as one of the winning papers in the award’s student category.

The award was established by the law firm of Ladas & Parry LLP in honor of the firm’s late partner Dr. Stephen P. Ladas.

The award is presented in in student and professional categories for papers regarding trademark law or matters that directly relate to or affect trademarks.

The award gives recipients a $1,250 (USD) cash award. In addition, winning papers will be considered for possible publication in The Trademark Reporter (TMR), INTA’s legal journal,  subject to the TMR Committee’s editorial review and approval.

Ingram has also been given complimentary registration to the 2021 Annual Meeting, the trademark industry’s event, by International Trademark Association (INTA).
