American University Washington College of Law has been selected to co-host the 18th annual Works-in-Progress Intellectual Property Colloquium (WIPIP) along with Texas A&M University School of Law and the University of Utah S.J. Quinney College of Law. The WIPIP colloquium provides intellectual property scholars with a forum to present their academic works-in-progress and receive early feedback from their peers.

WIPIP 2021 will be online February 11-13 and 18-20, 2021. Plenary sessions will cover the timely topics of diversity and inclusion in the IP academy and how to promote a more inclusive scholarship agenda, hiring, recruitment and looking for a new job during a pandemic, and teaching IP remotely – lessons learned from the pandemic. WIPIP 2021 is expected to draw over a hundred participants and will feature the signature social events such as game night even though it will be online for the first time. Only 18 law schools have ever hosted WIPIP and this will be the second time American University has served as a host school.
