Accessibility in the 21st Century: Telecommunications as a Tool for Integration

On Tuesday, Feb. 6th the Disability Law Society and Program on Law and Government held an event titled Accessibility in the 21st Century: Telecommunications as a Tool for Integration. The event featured Jules Polonetsky, the chief executive officer of the Future of Privacy Forum; Karen Peltz Strauss, the deputy chief of the Consumer and Governmental Affairs Bureau of the Federal Communications Commission; and Henry Claypool, policy director of the Community Living Policy Center at the University of California San Francisco. Professor Fernando Laguarda moderated the panel discussion which focused on their respective positions; the history, future, and current state of accessibility in telecommunications; which statutes and regulations impact or discuss such accessibility; and how these statutes and regulations play a role in the accessibility or creation of such technology.
