Thank you for submitting your proposals

The American University Washington College of Law would like to invite proposals for presentations, interactive sessions and panel discussions for the 2019 International Legal Education Abroad and LLM Administrator’s Conference to be held on February 21-22, 2019, in Washington, DC. This year’s conference will address the theme Affirming the Value of Global Education.

The conference focuses on international legal education abroad and the JD student population, as well as information sharing and best practices modeling for LL.M. administrators. Submissions should offer a unique perspective, innovative idea, or critical quantitative or qualitative assessment of the role international education abroad has on the global legal community or how the global legal community impacts international legal education. Proposals may consider JD and/or LL.M. students, law school international programs offices, law school faculty and administrators, international partners, alumni, employers, and others in the global legal community.

We have read and taken into consideration your last year’s evaluations and feedback (thank you!) This year, the Review Committee will aim to organize a mix of panels, round table discussions and free-flow conversations. Please include the preferred length and format in your submission and we will do our best to accommodate you.

Deadlines:

  • Abstract submission: December 21, 2018
  • Selection: January 21, 2019

Submissions should include the following:

  • The title of your presentation, length and format
  • An abstract (300-500 words) explaining the topic and why this topic would be of interest to conference participants
  • A short biography (100-200 words)
  • Names, titles, affiliations and email addresses of all proposed presenters

Please send your submissions to ileac@wcl.american.edu. The conference registration will be open soon! Updates will be shared as speakers, participants, and agenda details are confirmed.
