Professor Diego Rodríguez-Pinzón Participates in the 70th Session of the UN Committee Against Torture

Professor Diego Rodríguez-Pinzón, co-director of the Academy on Human Rights and Humanitarian Law, participated in the 70th session of the United Nations Committee against Torture from April 26 to April 28, 2021, which was carried out virtually.
Professor Rodríguez-Pinzón is a member of the Committee since 2018 and currently serves in the bureau of CAT as the Rapporteur of this human rights body. He publicly presented the Annual Report of the Committee on April 26. The Annual Report covered the period from April 2020 to April 2021, which coincides with the Covid 19 pandemic that impacted the Committee's work.
Prof. Rodríguez-Pinzón also serves as the Rapporteur on the New Communications and Interim Measures of the Committee, which is one of the Committee's mandate activities that were not affected by the pandemic and continued to offer protection to those persons that filed complaints before the Committee during this global crisis.
