The Center offers students, scholars, and practitioners diverse opportunities to spend a summer, semester or year at American University Washington College of Law conducting research, supporting our programs, sharing experiences with students, and exploring critical human rights issues while earning academic credit with a distinguished group of peers.

Flaka pollozhani

Flaka Pollozhani is an international visiting scholar through the Community Solutions Program Fellowship. She has a B.A. in Law and an M.A. in International Relations and Human Rights from the University of Tetova. In 2013, she conducted a research on freedom of expression and the European System for the Protection of Human Rights as part of an exchange scholars program at the University of Graz in Austria. Since 2014, she has been working as a Project Coordinator at the Community Center of Struga Municipality, providing legal and administrative aid for citizens and non-formal education. She is currently a Ph.D. student in International Relations at Ss. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje, Macedonia.

Sofía Auzmendi is an Argentinian third-year student in Political Science and International Relations at Paris Institute of Political Studies (Sciences Po, France), and a current intern at the Center. She obtained Bachillerato and Baccalauréat degrees in the franco-argentine Lycée Jean Mermoz of Buenos Aires (Argentina) with highest honours in 2014. In 2015, she co-founded an association named “SolidaRed” to raise funds to rebuild a primary school in Peru, to encourage reflection about education, and to promote dialogue between cultures by establishing contact between Peruvian and French children via mail and internet. Current areas of interest include the promotion of human rights in education, the environment, gender, business, and others.
