UN CAT Project’s 2nd Reunion

The UN CAT Project held its 2nd Reunion on February 13, 2016 during the historic weekend celebration of American University Washington College of Law’s new Tenley Campus. U.S. Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg gave the keynote address at the Tenley Campus ribbon-cutting ceremony, which brought together alumni, city officials, students, and members of the law school and AU communities.

The Reunion attracted Project alumni, students and faculty participants from the Project’s first year (2004) through 2015. Dean/Professor Claudio Grossman and Jennifer de Laurentiis, the Project’s Associate Director, welcomed the participants and facilitated discussions on further efforts to help eradicate torture. This event provided valuable opportunities for this committed group of Project alumni and students to share their tremendous experience – in NGOs, government, academia, private practice, domestic and international organizations, tribunals and courts – and to strengthen opportunities for professional collaboration.
